What these terms cover

These terms apply to your use of this website. They are not the terms of any work we carry out. Installation, repair, and maintenance are governed by the written contract issued for that job, which takes precedence over anything on this site if the two ever differ.

The information here is general

Pages on this site describe water treatment in general terms and report figures published by utilities and regulators. They are not advice about your property, and they are not a substitute for testing your own water.

Water quality figures published by a utility describe its distribution system and are usually averages across many sampling points. Your own tap can differ. For lead it very likely does, because lead is picked up from the service line and interior plumbing rather than carried from the treatment plant.

Figures change. Utility reports are published annually and regulatory limits are revised. We date every figure and name its source so you can check whether a more recent one exists.

Certification claims

Where we describe a filter type as reducing a contaminant under an NSF/ANSI standard, that describes what the standard covers for that category of product. It does not mean every unit on the market carries that certification. Certification is granted per model, and it should be verified against the current listing before relying on it.

Quotes and availability

Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance. Durations, cost ranges, and service availability are indicative. A price becomes binding only when we issue a written quote for a specific property after a survey.

Service areas shown on this site reflect where we currently hold the registration required to advertise. That changes over time.

External links

We link to utilities, regulators, and standards bodies as sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link is a citation rather than an endorsement.

Brand names

Where we refer to a manufacturer or product by name, that is to identify equipment we install or service. Unless a page states that we hold a dealer agreement, no affiliation, endorsement, or authorisation by that manufacturer should be inferred. Trade marks belong to their owners.

Liability

We take reasonable care over the accuracy of what is published here. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information on this site where no survey, test, or written quote was carried out for the property in question. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the foot of this page shows when they last changed.
